The Backstory
For many Singaporeans, Famous Amos is a brand that is synonymous with cookies. As children, many Singaporeans remember the amazing aroma that lingers around its retail shops in shopping malls, and that sense of satisfaction after taking the first bite… that never seems to be enough.
Over the years, Famous Amos has become a household brand. Parents carry nostalgic memories of their childhood and continue to make new ones with their children.
When we found that most of its current fans are aged between their 30s to 50s, we looked for a way to expand its brand reach to those under 30 years old.
The Creative
Famous Amos celebrated its 45th anniversary in 2020. The pandemic kept people at home – and online, so we generated hype around the brand on social media to increase fans, and engage the younger generation.
Keeping in mind the nostalgia associated with the brand, we asked fans to share their memories of these famous cookies on Famous Amos social channels, then brought their words to life by creating fun, animated personal videos. We used a photo album as the backdrop to relay the concept of "capturing memories," with the brand's unique look and feel.
The Magic
The content generated a lot of interest and engagement and saw more than 4,000 views and 300+ comments!
